Stavis Seafood Inc. has been located on the Boston Waterfront since 1929. Originally called Stavis Ipswich Clam Company by founder Isadore Stavis, the company's name changed to Stavis Seafoods, Inc. in 1967 when Isadore's sons Ed and Fred took control of the business. Stavis' primary 28,000 sq. ft. facility is located in the Marine Industrial Park on 7 Channel Street. A secondary 11,000 sq. ft. processing facility is located on the historic Boston Fish Pier. One employee in 1929 has grown to over 100 in the year 2001 and the third generation of the Stavis family is now running the business.

The year 2001 shows Stavis importing and selling fresh and frozen seafood from more than 35 countries worldwide. Working from an inventory of over 700 seafood items, Stavis distributes seafood via air, truck and ship both nationally and worldwide. Stavis also ships seafood DIRECT from several ports around the USA such as Miami, Los Angeles, New Jersey and Alaska. The DIRECT program allows you to buy seafood right at the source or port of entry to the USA. This allows greater shelf life on fresh and more cost savings on freight.
